Job Description
  • The Accounts Officer – Internal Control will work with the Internal Control Manager in ensuring a strong internal control environment through the development of policies and procedures, ensuring their implementation and monitoring compliance. 

  • The position will support the Internal Control Manager to foster standardization and consistency across business processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures, identifying and proposing modifications as needed.
  • Conduct daily reviews of transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Conduct daily calls of transactions and prepare the call-over report.
  • Track all payments vouchers with the Treasury team to ensure compliance with SOPs.
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of Invoices, debtor aging.
  • Purchase order verification in respect of cost centre, profit centre and GL code,
  • Cost scrutinizing on purchase order before release, between quotation and earlier price
  • Tax and Regulatory Affairs – Ensure all tax and regulatory filings are made promptly.
  • Prepares statutory deductions schedules and ensure compliance
  • Continuous GLs review to avoid posting errors – Ensure first time right postings, Avoid accounting errors.
  • Stock count controls (Monthly and Quarterly stock count review, reconciliation and ensure that differences are posted).
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Attend statutory audit meetings and answer all audit queries.
  • Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
  • Regular review of transactions documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with SOPs
  • Monitors actual expenses against budgets
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Proper control of CAPEX booking in co-ordination of respective team member at Head Office
  • Monthly physical stock taking and reconciliation with book stock and reasoning for deviation so that proper adjustment can be made in time to prevent material loss
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field.
  • Certificates in Supply Chain & Projects.
  • 5-8 years procurement management experience.
  • 3-5 Years’ Experience in Small-
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an Accounting Officer or a similar position in the Accounting Department.
    • A professional certificate such as ACA will be an advantage.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools with advanced excel skills
    • Experience in preparing financial statement and handling external audit exercise
    • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
    • Familiarity working with accounting software such as SAP.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail for accuracy.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.
