Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Group Head, Sales - a self-driven, highly ambitious future business leader who will lead and deliver on our customer acquisition, retention and share of market growth ambitions. The Group Head Sales ensures that the entire sales function, comprising of Regional Managers and Senior Sales Managers (Corporate, SME & Retail) all work effectively and harmoniously to ensure the sales force productivity is at exceptionally high levels. Ultimately, this role is responsible for hitting annual targets, building and nurturing relationships, and understanding customer trends; enabling the business to keep growing profitably and maintaining its leadership position. He/she will be responsible for developing growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans and will manage all sales efforts across the company. This will include seeking out opportunities and building connections that opens doors and will further expand the sales team’s reach and selling capabilities. He/she also assists the sales force in the identification and resolution of bottlenecks, impediments and obstacles which may hinder their ability to recognize and optimize opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets across all regions
  • Create and communicate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals and ensure C-level executives know the progress towards those goals
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base through a thorough understanding of category-specific landscapes and trends.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through winning proposals, bids, and presentations.
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives, building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Deliver predesigned product training and other programmes to regional staff
  • Partner with marketing, customer service, medical services as well as other departments to result in a profitable, sustainable and growing business portfolio across all regions
  • Keep track of market and Macro forces that shift prospects budgets, spending decisions and strategic direction of sales efforts.  Assess the competitive landscape and institute changes to the sales program in response to competitor changes and industry standards
Requirements
  • BA/B.SC degree or equivalent
  • Proven 10 – 15 years’ experience in management out of which 8 years should have been spent in sales management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in financial management and driving financial performance.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth and delivery of results
  • Entrepreneurial approach to business development
  • Strong leadership skills, able to evaluate information logically and thoughtfully and to make rational high-level judgements and decisions
  • Well-developed negotiation and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and displays a self-motivated and driven personality.
