The purpose of this role is to direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities and operations of the Information Technology Unit including hardware, software, network, telephone, and computer systems administration.

You will be responsible for identifying, recommending, developing, implementing, and supporting cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Head Manager will have overall responsibility for developing and implementing information technology strategies and solutions for Avon Health Care.

The job holder will be working and consulting with the management team on the strategy development and strategy implementation processes, and the annual operating plans and budgets.

• Assume management responsibility for assigned activities of the Information Technology Unit including designing, implementing, and administering information technology activities; manage, upgrade, and direct the installation, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software; manage and maintain data and equipment security; administer and provide ongoing technical support and training for staff.
• Oversee and participate in the development and administration of the Unit’s annual budget; participate in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments.
• Evaluate existing information technology needs of all departments; propose recommendations to maintain and improve the quality of service; plan, coordinate, and implement improvements in service. Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
• Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends and RESPONSIBILITIES BACKGROUND anticipating requirements. Advise on the strategic direction of key electronic resources including websites and information databases.
• Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, information security and control structures.
• Benchmark the organization against up-to-date Information Technology practices and adapt accordingly.
• Data Center Management.
• Proactively identify and develop new and innovative ways of improving IT processes within Avon HMO. Analyze IT related situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions within acceptable standards.
• Lead, motivate and develop the capability of the IT team, to achieve agreed annual targets.

• Minimum of ten (10) years working experience in IT management and implementation of technical projects. 
• First degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• IT professional qualification.
